Horrible symptoms 3 weeks after concussion...

I'm going to sound daft because I hoy my head betty hard 3 weeks ago, and didn't go to the doctor, despite acute headaches, slight visual disturbance, neck pain, and nightmares.

Thing is, there were several much bigger issues gong on and I just didn't prioritise my own health.
Now I'm three weeks on, still have all the same symptoms if slightly reduced.

Sleeping badly, head hurts if I lie down.. vivid nightmares.

Actually, unless one of you can say this happened to you and resolved after a few weeks I guess I should go to the doctor. I'm just really embarrassed because we live there art the moment.

Of course you should see the doctor, everyone will say the same, take care and don't feel embarrassed. I would be calling 111 for advice if you're in the u.k

Go to the doctor and be referred for X-ray just to be sure nothing bad is going on. At least you will be reassured.

There is such a thing as post concussion syndrome, even if all is well and healing strange symptoms persist for a while. They do go eventually though.

Best of luck, hope you feel better soon.

Try your GP, and ask if your local hospital has a minor head injury team to refer you to. I knocked myself out in the back garden many years ago.... no idea how long I was out for, but didn't seek help until the next day when it felt like my brain was trying to explode out of my skull.

I was under the head injury team for nearly 2 years. Don't underestimate any potential damage you've done. I couldn't sleep, couldn't taste/smell certain foods, awful dizziness, terrible low mood, and couldn't walk down the stairs without hanging on for dear life. It was life changing. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks, tom that sounds awful, i’m so sorry. Low mood is interesting. I do also feel far more weepy than would be normal for me, even though everything else is a bit shit at hte moment that definitely began when I bumped my head...thought I was just feeling sorry for myself, maybe it’s a physical thing.

Thanks again Sad

You should be avoiding screens!...

And definitely see a doctor as soon as possible.
