Fibromyalgia. Anyone tried using melatonin?

I've had fibromyalgia for about 20 years. I've avoided taking any medication as I seem to react to everything but really need to get some good sleep. Has anyone tried using melatonin if so was it any good? Did you have any side effects? Did you finally get some sleep!

I tried melatonin for poor sleep for about 6 weeks. I can't say it did any good. It might have helped a tiny bit dallibf asleep but not in terms of quality and even that wasn't better than an herbal pill.

It's more recommended for readjusting sleep pattern than dealing with poor quality of sleep. Worth trying though.

@swingofthings thank you that is really useful. So might be good in periods of insomnia. I find herbal stuff really good for two nights then the effect seems to wear off.

Be careful of melatonin, it can sometimes trigger depression.

I find CBD oil (specifically a type containing indica) useful for sleep. I also occasionally take passion flower.
