Tmi poo questions - what's going on?

Hi. Sorry I apologise but not sure what this is.
Last 4 or 5 days when I've been going to toilet, my poo has been coming out in sort of bits/pebbles. Not rock hard or difficult to pass but not the usual one or two longish ones and I'm going regularly. No blood, mucous or straining.

I suffer from anxiety and I've been really stressed this past few weeks and my diet hasn't been great, not eating regularly or properly tbh. I've lost my appetite a bit but force myself to at least eat a meal in the evenings. I do drink plenty of fluids though so I'm well hydrated.

Please tell me I am just constipated or something as my health anxiety is sky high at the moment Sad

Sounds like you need to get your diet back on track. Eat proper regular meals, keep up with the water, and do some gentle exercise. See what it's like in a week.

I'm not a medic! See your doc if you're worried.

I get this exact thing when my anxiety is particularly bad, the loss of apetite, and the poo. It's (in my case) definitely due to making poor nutrition choices because of feeling stressed all I want is sugary tea and pizza. It's nothing to worry too much about, just try and eat a bit more balanced from now on, I know it's hard when you literally don't want to eat anything but try and get some easy to eat fruit in to help with fibre.

What I do is tell myself I will forget about it til this day next week - and then check back in with myself and decide then whether to see a doctor. Usually, the symptom is gone by then and I've forgotten about it.

Thank you Seaweed. I had an early morning panic and feel calmer now.
I wish I could forget about things or push them to the back of my mind.
Bloody anxiety!!!

Simple constipation - Google the Bristol stool chart.
Get your eating back on track and you'll be just fine!

Thanks Curls . I appreciate your wise words Smile

Omg I've got this exact same thing.
I'm really anxious and anxiety does this to me. I'm shitting pebbles lol but I'm going regularly and not straining and no blood.
However, my diet is a bit hit and miss at the moment but I do drink plenty of fluids. Must admit I am worried about it.

Apart from more fruit and veg, is there anything else I can do?

My poo is always like this-it’s odd, but the Gp didn’t seem bothered. It doesn’t hurt but I think my bowel must be sluggish. I get a lot of trapped/noisy/gurging (inside) wind as well, almost like little pockets of gas get trapped between the ‘pebbles’-it’s rubbish. I’m not sure what I should be eating more of to stop it?!
