TPOAb - 11.4
also B12 is 168
sooo many symptoms of thyroid/ hashimotos and just been told I have a small Goitre. but apparently "normal" getting desperate - this has been going on 10 years!!

many many thanks in advance

Try posting on healthunlocked/thyroid uk. Your b12 needs testing for pernicious anaemia. Thyroid is in the struggling range. There's 2 sets of antibodies to test but you'veonly got one here. Could do with testing iron, ferritin and vit D. GP should refer you to an endocrinologist.

Can we have the reference ranges for those results please? It makes them easier to interpret.

Otherwise what @Wheretorun says is spot on.

Thank you

TSH - 3.47 range 0.27- 4.20
Free thyroxine 14.700 range 12.00 - 22.00
Free T3 4.42 range 3.10 - 6.80
Thyroglobulin Antibody < 10 range 1.00 - 115.00
Thyroid peroxidase A/bodies 11.4 range 0.00 -34.00
Active B12 168 range 25.10 - 165.00
Folate 16.85 range 2.91 - 50.00
CRP high sensitivity 0.23 range 0.00 - 5.00
Ferritin 50.3 range 13.00 - 150.00

I have been tested a couple of times previously by my own doc but not sure they do all the tests so had them done by medicheck and these are the results which they also said are normal. I have had high iron levels on 3 occasions but haemochromotsis has been ruled out as has MS etc just don't seem to be able to get any answers. All started after 5 miscarriages quite close together and just haven't been well since but that was 10years ago now

really appreciate any advice. when you say thyroid is struggling which results does that relate to? would like to be able to go back to doc and point something out without getting the whole "your mad, its all in your head routine"

again thanks so much x

3.47 for TSH is quite high in range yet ft4 and ft3 are at the low end. If you were ttc NICE recommendation is TSH under 2.5 and many countries consider TSH over 3 high. Your active B12 is high but I don't know much about that. What about vit D?
Could you see an endocrinologist privately especially as you have a goitre. Sounds really tough on you. It could be something else, it's just hard to get diagnosed. Was your blood test first thing on an empty stomach? Levels fluctuate through the day. I suggest you post on healthunlocked/thyroiduk. Many knowlegable people on that forum!

The TSH is considered normal and T4 &T3 are both in normal range, I’d TSH was lower than it is then you’d expect T3&T4 to increase, as that’s what happens

So the gp tested thyroid and you got the same results or different? How much time between tests?

bumhead · 11/09/2018 17:36

Well your antibodies are high so you have Hashimoto's. Your TSH is high in range and your T4 is low in range. If you were in the US you'd be being treated by now. Join Healthunlocked and their Thyroid forum. It's what helped me get my diagnosis.

bumhead · 11/09/2018 17:40

Ah sorry I read your B12 result wrongly as the other antibody they test for which it doesn't look like has been tested (but needs doing for a diagnosis of Hashis)
