Food in extraction hole

I had a pretty traumatic extraction today. The tooth had to be cut and the roots dug out. Pretty sore and swollen now. I ate some paella rice this evening as I was starving and I was being very careful but a few grains entered the hole! I reluctantly rinsed them out but one stubborn grain remains. I've tried everything to get it out. It's not the easiest place to see into. Do I need to see the dentist again tomorrow to ask them to remove the grain? Or will it be ok?

This happened to me after I had my wisdom teeth removed. Eating a big Mac a few days later was not a good decision! You can get special syringes without a needle to flush the extraction site out that are curved and easy to angle. Or just get one of those syringes you use to give calpol or similar to kids. It's very satisfying seeing all the bits come out tbh

Swish your mouth with hot very salty water. This is what I did after my wisdom teeth extractions.

It will come out dont rinse it just leave it I had ham stuck in mine and it just came out overnight

You should not rinse after an extraction for 24 hours. You need to let the blood clot develop in the hole, if you rinse it can dislodge it and you will get dry socket. You should just eat soft food at first

Do not rinse with salty water .You need to let it clot over first.

What StupidFly says.
Rice & peas should be avoided for a week after an extraction for this exact reason.
No need to see the dentist.
if not naturally dislodged overnight, should come out when you begin the hot salt water rinses when 24hours have elapsed.
