Help tick head still in my skin!

I live in a very rural area and ticks are common. We have a tick remover that is usually very good but this time it failed to get a tick out if my skin on my tummy. Bits broke off a d head stil in. Trip to minor injuries. Do you think it I need antibiotics?

Probably not. I've had the front fangs stuck in my skin twice.

The only thing that did happen was that it itched like mad for at least a week, went red and then the skin on top dried and flaked off, releasing the bits that were stuck. And that was that. Pleasant it was not.

A tip though: I've found finger nails are better to remove ticks as you can get closer to the skin and under the head. So the tick can't cling on.
