Yes they are bunions. They look quite mild compared to mine in terms of size. I've had them since I was about 18 but they've never caused me any bother at all until 2 years ago (I'm now 30), now they ache constantly if I wear the wrong kind of shoe. I'm on my feet all day in work.

The only true way to get rid of them is surgery which you'd have to go to your gp to be referred for. You can get corrector devices online which I've tried once which are like straps that pull the big toe into the correct shape, it did temporarily relieve the pain but you can't wear shoes with the ones I bought so you can just wear them at home barefoot or in slippers.

Thanks nog... they have been aching for a few weeks now...I,ve seen the correctors online and was not sure if I should try them or not.

They're worth a try as they do relieve the pain whilst on but they don't get rid of the problem nor permanently correct the shape, the only thing that can really do that is surgery. To me it's not worth it as you've to take up to 6 weeks off work and be off your feet and there is always a chance they will come back apparently even after surgery.
