Hi
I was prescribed amitriptyline last summer for pain, 25mg. Ive been taking it in liquid form (I really struggle with tablets) for a year.
I came off it in July because my gp was hassling me to switch to tablets because it's more expensive to prescribe in liquid form.
I've tried managing without it, but my quality of life is suffering so today spoken to a different Dr and am going back on it in liquid form for the time being. It really suits me and I can't bloody wait.
My question is, has anyone taken it long term? I thought it would be something I wouldn't need forever but my life has been pretty crappy without it. Everyone around me seems to think this is heavy stuff and I should be off it asap. But I woke up today and thought, it's me who is suffering, not them. I also have 2 young dc to look after.
So will I be unusual/irresponsible to take it long term?
Thanks
