MummyFaith03 · 04/09/2018 08:56

My daughter fell off the side of a bed while staying in a caravan and got crushed against the wall, broke her collar bone.

She wont take medicine, iv tryed putting it in juice, milk, milkshake, fruit shoot even coke! But she wont drink it she still tastes it, if i just shoot it into her mouth with the syringe she freaks out, spits it out and hurts her arm in the process. I dont no what else i can do :(

She hasnt moved off the sofa since saturday night when we come home from hospital, we have been sleeping down stairs. Iv propped her up but even that is hard work with her kicking and crying because it hurts. Iv got to take her to the fracture clinic in a little while and i am dreading it! I dont no how to get her up without causing too much pain?? Can anyone help me with that please?? X

Ah bless her I bet she's a bit overwhelmed with it all. Bless you too cos its never nice when your child is hurting.

Bit of an odd one but would she tolerate it PR?
If not it's gonna be difficult. What has she been given, is it something you could try a capsule of (put into yogurt doesn't always have a taste) or if it's a syrup are thier different flavours?

MummyFaith03 · 04/09/2018 09:54

They have only given Nurofen, so its a syrup. They only do strawberry and orange i will try get the orange one today.

What is PR? Is that a tablet up the bum? Because she had that at the hospital and it was traumatic for everyone involved :(

We stick it in a small amount of fruit smoothie. The only way here !! It's impossible to help them sometimes !

MummyFaith03 · 04/09/2018 12:15

Doubt she would drink smoothie she's so fussy 😣 i no, i keep getting told i need to be more firm with her but its so hard isnt it.

When dd needed medicine but wouldn't take it, the only thing we managed was mixed up really well in a yoghurt.

Chocolate or strawberry milk shake ? Or what does she like that you could add to without her knowing.

MummyFaith03 · 05/09/2018 07:44

She wont eat yogart either 😣 iv tryed it in milk, milkshake, summer fruits juice, blackcurrant fruit shoot, and even coke 😳 the only time she takes it is in her bottle when she's half asleep.
