What's going on with DH?

DH is late 40s but young for his age.

He has terrible dehydration at night, like restless leg syndrome and he's constantly getting up to pee. He's been to the GP months ago and they tested for diabetes which was all clear. The GP didn't seem concerned.

He drinks plenty of water but it's worse when he's had something salty to eat. I used bought gravy the other night (not done it before) and it happened after that. It will happen after a take away. Normally I would just ensure he manages it through diet. However, he works at sea and after a long day, healthy diet, plenty of water, it still happens.

Any ideas what could be going on?

First thought is a UTI but it sounds like he needs to go back to the GP really.

He could try a magnesium spray on his legs. Betteryou is the best one, you can buy it on Amazon. It does work.

If he has restless legs they will wake him up or keep him awake and when you can't sleep, you pee a lot.

Has he had his prostate examined?

mellongoose · 03/09/2018 19:28

Yes I think they checked his prostate and all was ok

I can help with long term health advice.... but I get terrible restless legs, as does my DF and he told me a tip. Cool legs! No pajama bottoms and take legs out of the blanket if your having a bad night! The monsters get me but my god it works! X

He could take a couple of painkillers, that might just take the edge off enough to sleep. Presume he doesn't smoke because that can cause restless legs too.

ozymandiusking · 04/09/2018 00:03

Anaemia can be a cause of restless legs syndrome.

mellongoose · 04/09/2018 15:41

Definitely doesn't smoke. I'll look into magnesium and anemia (sp). The peeing is definitely a factor/symptom. He's awake yes, but 4 times in 2 hours is not unusual.

Thanks for your help so far 🙏
