Can female work colleagues influence each others' menstrual cycle? Sorry - maybe TMI

I have heard that women who live together have their periods at the same time. Could this be true for work colleagues?

My history is that I am 36, had PND which affected my cycle making it every three weeks, heavy and draining. ADs sorted me out by early Dec 06 and I eventually went back to a normal cycle with normal flow etc. Had a coil (not Mirena) fitted in Feb this year. Everything was fine for a while but now back to 3 weekly cycle, heavy and draining periods with headaches too which I normally never get.

My work colleague is 49. She thinks she may be on the change but is having a 3 week cycle, heavy draining periods, headaches and feeling generally terrible around her period.

Oh also, our periods always coincide and last the same amount of time, 7 days.

Do you think one of us may be influencing the other? And which do you think it is?

Sorry if TMI by the way!

I've heard of this before.

Have you asked GP about fibroids? I know that's not answering question about co-ordinating cycles but could be due to heavy, draining periods.

I always used to come on with my colleague who I shared on office with, also the girls I shared a house with as a student and at school! Nightmare but you soon get used to it

Yep, makes for one miserable, nasty week of PMT beforehand too!
