Hypothyroid and levothyroxine

Hi ladies

Hoping for some advice! After 2 years of fertility treatment and failed ivf have been diagnosed as hypothyroid by an endocrinologist. T3 levels outside of normal range although TSH was borderline at 4.2. Started 50mg levothyroxine last week but I’m not feeling any better at all, in fact my water retention is worse and my weight has gone up despite not changing my diet.
Guess I’m looking for positive stories or advice as just want to get my metabolism back again! My resting heart rate has dropped further to 44 too!!
Thanks x

Hi summer, it takes around 10 days to 2/3 weeks for some symptoms to alleviate, usually around 3 months for blood tests and symptoms to properly level out, longer if tsh was higher or if you've been suffering a long time. (It has a half life of 7-10 days)

I wouldn't track heart rate (unless you think you're over replaced) or water retention as hormones can affect that. You will notice a big difference in a couple of months. Also, if for fertility reasons, I'd wait till blood tests have been good and stable for at least 3 months as it takes this long for an egg to mature.
