DS has a big bruise on his elbow with a big hard lump in the middle of it...

It's not a new bruise but I've only just noticed it It's right on the bit of bone -not quite on the point of his elbow (if you put your wrist up to your neck to look at your elbow, there!) and has a hard lump where he's bashed it. DP says his bone is swollen but does that happen?

Could it just be a collection of blood/clot?

dd bashed her cheek bone v hard (we didn't get it x-rayed ) but took her to the GP a week or so later when there was still an obvious lump. He said something about lumps forming on bones - think it may have been to do with the muscle around it going hard, not sure, but it does happen. Lump went away after about 6 weeks I think.

Thanks! I've never seen it before and was at a loss to think what it could be - didn't think it would be a swollen bone!!
