Hi there... I have 4 teenagers who are lovely.
I have had tummy/back pain for 2-3 weeks now. The Dr first thought it was cystitis then a week later sciatica, but yesterday I noticed light vaginal bleeding. Of course I google this and I am so scared I have the C word. Yesterday 111 said see my Dr on Tuesday. It is agonising having to wait through yesterday, today, bank holiday Monday, then I start my new job on Tuesday and it's my son's birthday and I have to squeeze in the Dr too. Do you think I should go to A&E today or am I better waiting to see the Dr to get me in the system? Advice and reassurance would be greatly received.

No need for A and E unless you're hosing / bleeding heavily - your GP will refer you to see a gynaecologist under the 2ww ( two week wait ie priority referral to clinic ) . Majority of women in your situation do not have cancer .

Hi, just wanted to tell you I was in the same position last year and was terrified.
I had a vaginal scan and had the results that day
All was well, apparently this can happen a lot no explanation apart from vaginal atrophy sometimes we can have one last bleed.
I'm sure you'll be fine x

Are you sure you don't have sciatica and a day of random bleeding?

Thanks for your kind messages. I went to Dr, Tuesday sure did come slowly. He is doing a full gyny check up with scans and bloods. The bleeding has subsided and was actually only a small discharge in the end. I'm still very worried though....

How long ago since your last period? Post menopausal bleeding is not uncommon at all but needs checking just in case so no panic.
