Sudden weakness in legs when standing/walking

I've noticed this happen a few times but properly noticed it yesterday. I picked my 2 year old up to wake him up and go upstairs, once i picked him up i felt my legs go really weak like i could fall. It happened again today but it felt stronger, like i noticed it a lot more.

This has happened before when i've not been holding my son, haven't really thought anything of it until today!

Has anyone else had this or have any idea what it could be?

thanks!

Do you get pins and needles anywhere , any trouble with bladder or opening your bowels ?

HoleyCoMoley · 23/08/2018 12:57

Have you injured your back, slipped a disc, got sciatica. That sounds quite uncomfortable and you don't want your legs to give out when you're halfway up the stairs or driving, have you seen your g.p. about it or maybe called 111 for their advise.

abbieo · 23/08/2018 13:27

Oddcat I've not had any problems in those areas

HoleyCoMoley I haven't injured my back, i don't think I have sciatica... I've had sharp pains in my hip before but haven't had them for a while. Yeah i didn't think about phoning 111 to be honest! thank you for your advice

I would see your GP

Sometimes you can damage your back, hips, nerves from lifting and carrying, a 2 y.o. Do you balance him on your hip.

HoleyCoMoley - Yes i do, didnt think it would do any harm to be honest!

There's quite a lot online about back pain and carrying toddlers, hope it helps, I'd see a g.p. anyway just for a check up. Flowers

I have had this on and off for years not sure what causes it, seems to come and go. DH reckons its just sitting in wrong position. One doctor suggested MS but doesn't fit the pattern as only last an hour or two but I am supposed to have neurological checks done. Maybe see what doctor thinks.
