C-Diff infection HELP!!

Hi
I need some advice my Step-Granny is 78, she has dementia, very underweight. She is on her second bad outbreak of C-Diff which she has been hospitalised for.
My mum (aged 70), with Fibromyalgia is insisting that she should be the only one going to visit her as she doesn't want all of us coming into contact with infection.
We are all at our wits end as we are sooooo worried that our mum will catch this horrendous infection off her.
Can someone tell me is my own mum at risk of contracting this??? I'm so worried about her. Should we be leaving her to be cared for only by the hospital??

As long as your mum is vigilant with hand hygiene then she should be fine

It's fine to go visit. She will be advised by staff on the ward re: gloves/hand hygiene/etc. C diff generally doesn't cause much trouble to healthy adults but they can, of course, carry the infection.
