Something wrong with my kidneys...

Something is going on and nobody really seems to know what! I had a baby 4 months ago, and during the last few weeks of my pregnancy I was hospitalised with high blood pressure. From all the blood tests they did, it was noted that I had poor renal function. The blood tests were repeated 6 weeks postnatal, and still low - GP advised to make efforts to drink more - I did, blood repeated and urine test, creatinine levels are still sky high - blood pressure incidentally is also still sky high despite not having any issues before pregnancy so they're switching me from labetalol to an ACE inhibitor. I have a scan and more blood tests in a couple of weeks.

No odema
No urinary symptoms
No pain

Don't really know what I'm doing, but if anyone has a spare kidney knocking about do give me a shout Sad

Oh I feel for you - sounds very scary. You need to get your bp under control - hopefully the change of drug will do that. Can you go private and have the scan any sooner? Is it just an ultra sound or a nuclear dye type one? (I can’t remember the name)

It's just going to be an ultrasound scan. I'm so anxious and that's probably not helping my bp either.

I'm only 35. I feel like I might not live to old age.

I am on maternity pay at the mo so can't afford to go private unfortunately.
