DD stuck her finger in my eye and it's really sore and bloodshot...

Anyone reassure me that it's nothing to worry about? Dd was swinging her arms about and stuck her finger in my eye (nail is quite long too) and it now feels like I have something in my eye and it's bloodshot. Vision OK. There's nothing to worry about, is there? [panicking wmoticon because I hate eyes]

My DS did this to DH. He had to go to the eye hospital and have drops and a patch (only for a day) and has to carry on putting drops in at night for the next six months. It was agony I am reliably informed.

The dr at the hospital said twigs and small children are the main causes of scratches.

Sorry that is not very reassuring! Maybe if it is still hurting tomorrow go and get it checked out.
