Abdominal pain

I have been unwell recently and wondered if anyone else had had similar symptoms.
I had 10 days of severe lower abdominal pains which resulted in a 2 day hospital admission as I was unable to eat or sleep because of the pain. Painkillers were not helping. I had lots of different test which showed I have gallstones which docs did not feel were related to my pain. My blood tests came back with raised infection markers and I had a slight temperature. At this stage I had no vomiting or diarrhoea. I was discharged home with docs saying it was unspecified abdominal pain which was fine.
After I got home from hospital I had severe diarrhoea for 36 hours, probably more than 50 episodes although I had eaten very very little in the previous 10 days. When the diarrhoea started the abdominal pain went away and I actually felt much better.
The diarrhoea has settled this morning and I am feeling better again but I'm curious as to what I've actually had and wondered if anyone could shed any light?
I will be speaking to doc in the morning and will ask them but interested in people's thoughts?
