Anyone know how long MMR vaccine lasts for

I had the MMR vaccine when I was a teenager- now mid 30s. I've been around (but not in close contact) someone who got measles recently. Do I need another MMR or does it last forever? NHS website says 'Virtually everyone (more than 99%) will be protected against measles and rubella for more than 20 years after 2 doses of MMR.' Not overly worried and have no symptoms but just being cautious as I'm pregnant. Rang 111 but they just read me what was on the NHS website.

Do you recall if you had the second immunization? If you did, you should be fine. MMR is not generally given during pregnancy as it's an attenuated virus vaccine. Measles is a highly contagious virus so you should probably ring your doctor as soon as you can if you're not fully vaccinated.

Thanks for the reply @MissConductUS - I'm sure I did have the second immunisation so I think all will be ok! That 20 year thing on NHS site just worried me a bit but I think all should be ok . Useful to know I'd be unlikely to get another MMR in any case - thanks

Please see your doctor/midwife if you are pregnant and have been exposed to measles even if you have had the MMR. What on earth was someone with measles doing exposing you?

My booking bloods showeed that i had rubella antibodies- dont remeber the other ones

You can't have the rubella vaccine during pregnancy.

Just to clarify I haven't been exposed to measles, just been in the same large office as someone else who went off sick (in a week I was off work in any case) and it turns out to have been measles. I'm pretty sure I hadn't even been within a few metres of them for quite a while. So I'm thinking risk is extremely slim
