Mid-Cycle bleeding.

I'm 41. Not experienced mid-cycle bleeding before. Last period was 2 weeks ago. Always been regular. It seems to be getting slightly heavier (tmi from brownish more to red) but nothing like the periods I usually have which are very heavy.

I was erring to chalking it to getting toward the menopause, but this afternoon I've had a couple of occasions where I had the sudden urge to pee. I usually have a bladder of iron but I barely made it to the loo. No pain and no increased frequency to go. I know written down it sounds like a straight forward UTI, but the bleeding is very much period bleeding rather than a UTI.

I know the sensible thing is to make a GP appt, but if I say the above about the bleeding not being UTI bleeding, will they think I'm crackers?

Probably not. I've had it from a cervical polyp, a uterine polyp and most recently an ovarian cyst with a bit of endometrium in it.

It's been thoroughly investigated each time.

Thanks. Hopefully I'll make myself clear on my symptoms and see what the response is.

Saw a GP. Was a locum. He said the 2 symptoms were a coincidence. Not concerned about the mid-cycle bleed and just to monitor it to see if it happens again over the next couple of months. Said the urge to pee was more of a concern but as I didn't have any other pain or symptoms was probably just one of those things. Did do a urine dip but there was something wrong with the sticks as he kept getting different results. Have a form to have a proper specimen check but needs to be the first urine of the morning so I'm to drop one in on Monday.

I've booked an appointment to see the nurse practitioner next week as I felt really dismissed but not sure whether I should cancel it.

If it's only been one month it's obviously not triggering any concerns for them.

Wait and see if you get it again next month.

Thanks. I'm still bleeding so I'll see how I am on Monday. Will cancel if it's stopped (appt is Weds). Not having the same desperate urge but not quite back to normal either.

Is it bright red or brown? mine was bright red when it was a polyp because sex made it bleed & brown for everything higher up iyswim.

I think it lasted a few days maybe a week each time. I literally cant drop my husbands repeat in these days without my gp having me up on a couch. I think shes a frustrated gynae.

It started off brown but changed and is still red. V light though.

The one i saw was only interested in my urine, no obs or examination.
