Non-Vaccinated Babies

Hi All,

I am considering not vaccinating my LO (7 weeks) for MMR, Polio etc... due to my own findings into this topic showing the side effects which children have already experienced as a result of being vaccinated.

How many of you have not allowed your kids to be vaccinated and have you experienced any issues as a result of your decision?

Also, how is the general health of your child(ren) since choosing not to go down the vaccinating route?

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

I personally would not allow unvaccinated children into the my home until DD is old enough to be given the MMR (even pushed a family member into getting vaccinated ).

Please tell us where you did this research and how you think they are detrimental? MMR isn't done until much later btw

I vaccinated Dd and she has since enjoyed the amazing health benefits of not contracting a deadly but entirely preventable disease. Hth.

I vaccinated all mine when they were a bit older. I think vaccination is generally a good thing but I disagree with mass vaccination. Tiny babies are more susceptible to neurological changes and there is a peer reviewed study to show this. So it's not just unscientific mumbo jumbo.

It's your child and your choice. But on here you will be told you are crazy to want to do anything differently.

I vaccinated my DD. She did experience side effects. She had a mild fever and was grumpy for an afternoon and now she's protected against a multitude of diseases that could kill her.

Not vaccinating your child means there is potentially a day where you have to bury your child because you chose not to protect them. Why not leave her at the top of the stairs or in the middle of a road?

Bobbie - the only vaccines given to really small babies is DTP. In the U.K. one is not very likely to catch diphtheria.

Any large claim, made without either evidence, or a plausible mechanism which fits an already validated model, is unscientific mumbo jumbo. The essence of the scientific method is not to jump to conclusions because 'well it might be true'.

In this case, however, we don't need to guess. There is a huge wealth of data on vaccines, far more than most other medical interventions. Tiny babies are NOT vulnerable to neurological change because of mass vaccination. Tiny babies are, however, very vulnerable to infectious disease. They used to kill a majority of children before the age of 5.

Where? And how do you weigh this against the vast, repeated, peer reviewed body of work which shows huge reductions in child mortality?

All of these diseases can kill or cause serious life long problems for your child. The misinformation on unsubstantiated websites & from untrustworthy so-called researchers who are not peer reviewed state things like: mercury is used for preservatives (which it isn't in the UK on the NHS) that (god help us here we go again!) it causes autism - no it doesn't & its been disproved (you want a list of researchers who have been paid by big pharma or perhaps have considered that the NHS would not pay out so children in the uk get them for free unless they worked to the health benefit of the children) that children don't develop as well or are sicker (try looking at old cemeteries at the baby & young children graves) Please tell me where you got your research from & what it was. Your dc will be at far greater risk from diseases if you don't have her inoculated this is particularly relevant when antibiotics & antivirals are becoming less affective so that if (god forbid) your dc contracts these diseases the treatment will be less effective. measles can kill (Roald Dahl daughter) meningitis kills maims and disables children (I remember a workshop I was on where a mum with a severely disabled child came to inform us about meningitis - the dc was deaf blind LD amongst other disabilities which can include loss of limbs) Tetanus - your dc plays in garden gets dirt in wound they can die of lock jaw - shall I go on?

You are gambling with your child's health.

Measles are coming back with ferocity all down to mothers like you refusing to vaccinate.

It's also very unfair to those babies and children who cannot receive vaccines.

sorry correction researcher who have NOT been paid by big pharma - unlike that @#@# who started the whole scare story by the by (sigh) Kennedy in the USA who has a son with asd had a great aunt who was hidden away after being given a lobotomy to control her - it is highly likely that she was within the spectrum & undiagnosed as there is a strong link with genetics & asd

You realise that vaccinations protect you against specific disease rather than benefit your health generally? There is surely no sense in this question?

Sure, an unvaccinated child could anecdotally be well, but that may be because they haven't come into contact with measles etc.

Better than mine, since I caught whooping cough as a child and have had lifelong consequences from it.

Yep totally true. That DTP took multiple injections that upset my daughter. I shouldn't have done that because it made her cry. I'm such an awful parent.

I can protect my DD from meningitis but not from idiots like you.

Dpitheria - in the 1940s, before the vaccination came in, this was one of the biggest killers of children. In 1942 there were 55,000 cases in Britain leading to 3,500 child deaths. In the years before that up to 70,000 people a year were infected.

The fact that you’re unlikely to get diphtheria now is because almost everyone is vaccinated. so my children being vaccinated protects yours from your ill advised viewpoint.

The bacteria that causes diphtheria is still widespread worldwide and everyone I think who has died of it recently has acquired it from unvaccinated people who have picked it up abroad. Everyone who has died recently has been unvaccinated.

If enough people stop vaccinating their children it will come back. And it will start killing again.

As an aside- most people would be completely unaware that unvaccinated babies or children were at the same nursery/school/softplay as them. So the person saying “unvaccinated children wouldn’t be allowed in my house” is a little shortsighted.

I can control my house obviously I can't control a soft play.
