I rang in this morning to work to say I wasn't feeling well but would try to get in for lunchtime so I could get on with some stuff.
They said no no it's fine take the day off, what exactly is wrong. I said I felt sick and dizzy and just a bit off (have now put it down to low blood pressure which I haven't had for a few years ). Anyway , line manger has just emailed to say I can't return to work for 48 hours post episode of sickness, but I haven't actually been sick! Can I go in tomorrow ?! I want to as I have stuff to do and I've recently started the job so don't want to make a bad impression.

Sounds like you work with food in some way. If you do,no you can't go back in - it's a health/safety/hygiene issue.

It's still the same policy wherever you work, according to the fit for work policy. Is there any way you can work from home?

Nope I can't do anything at all frustratingly. I haven't actually been sick, just felt all weird this morning.

Just tell them it's low blood pressure and you'll be back tomorrow.

I think I will as am anxious to not get a bad sick record.
