Severe pain with first ovulation after pregnancy?

My DD is 9.5 months old and I am still BFing her. I have not had any AF since giving birth. Last night I started to get severe pain in my lower left side. It feels like ovultion pain but much, much worse than anything I have had before. It is still there now. Sometimes so bad it hurts to move. DH keeps mentioning my appendix but I think it is my ovary. Did anyone else find that their first ovualtion after pregnancy was very, very painful? Or should I go and get it checked out in case it is my appendix?

I didn't have it with my first ovulation but I am experiencing something similar at the moment, my period is late (not that they are regular anyway). Mine is on my left side and hurts if I sleep on it. Before I had ds I never even noticed ovulation pain but having a baby really seems to change things.

your appendix is on the right side.i got severe ovulation pain after having my 3rd child,it never got any better.but i think you should get it checked out as it could be something else such as a cyst.

Thanks. Think I will get it checked out as it is still pretty painful and it can't take that long to ovulate (I used to get mild pain for an hour or so).
