last night in the bath noticed some tiny pin prick sized blood spots on his legs.

clusters of about 5 of them in 3 or four places on both thighs.

he does tend to bruise easily and i think i recall him getting these before about a year ago.

they look quite faint today and he is very well.

do some people just bruise like this or something?

Sorry i have no idea, but have bumped this just incase someone else does

Bubbaloo · 01/06/2007 19:12

Have no idea what they are but I also noticed my ds1 had a couple inside his ear yesterday, and ds2(6 weeks old)has one on his head,so I'm hoping someone will come along and know what they are.

Bubbaloo · 01/06/2007 19:14

Btw...the ones in ds1 ear are singular ones, rather than clumps of them.

MaureenMLove · 01/06/2007 19:14

I think this has been done before, but for adults. I'm sure they are nothing to worry about, I'll see if I can find it somewhere for you.

i have some on my chest atm. i was scratchy yesterday and little blood blistered have appeared, not broken skin though.

belgo · 01/06/2007 19:25

has he been scratching there? They can be caused by scratching.

Our DS1 was rushed to hospital after visit to routine baby clinic and HV noticed same wee clusters of spots on his legs...she and GP seemed to think he had meningitis/septicaemia as was similar rash. He was not ill at all and I felt a real fraud taking my happy bouncing baby into hospital where they they had prepared the resuscitation room etc for him! Turned out the rash was friction from being sat astride daddies leg and playing "horsey" (rash was only on the inside of his legs!).

Ds had this on his knees and thighs when he was a baby. We eventually realised it was from xp tickling him. He used to chuckle his head off if anyone tickled his knees and it seems xp was a bit too rough lol.

Bubbaloo · 01/06/2007 20:07

Ds1 has been scratching his ear so that's probably whats caused it then.He only has 2 singular ones and the baby only has one of them,so I'll just keep an eye on them and hope they don't get anymore.
Feel a bit daft bothering the doctor, but obviously I would if it was a rash of any kind.

Wallace · 01/06/2007 20:52

Yes my ds1 gets them from friction/scratching

cheeryface · 02/06/2007 14:53

thanx everyone, have just checked back to this. Seems to have nearly gone now. it was really because it looked like you would expect from meningitus or similar i.e blood spots that don't fade and he has a lot of nosebleeds too so imagination went wild!

i am thinking that maybe he had been roughing around on the floor with ds2.

didn't realise it could cause that!

he's all happy and well anyway
