Anyone had a tooth infection and prescribed metronidazole and amoxicillin. Are saltwater rinses hard to take without gagging?

I've had lots of abscesses, metronidazole is vile, but it works. The salt water gargle is ok, better than corsodyl mouthwash. It doesn't need to be too salty, are you having treatment on your tooth once the infection has gone. Have you got some decent painkillers, use a baby toothbrush when you clean your teeth.

Hi. I am really struggling with waves of excruciating pain not even painkillers and ice can touch thinking now may try warmth and see. Feel shit on antibiotics for sure and mouth rinses with salt disgusting. Second time this has happened to me with the same dentist as lovely as she is just nice to talk to someone who has been through the same. Getting paranoid about repercussions of unresolved infection. Got a couple of days left of 5 day course and it's still painful. Dentist never used to bother me went regularly for years. Then had reaction to adrenaline in injection with fast heart rate and freaked. Have been terrified ever since. Now this. Scared to death now.

The dentist needs to be either doing a root canal or if the tooth is really knackered then removing it. Without this the infection in the tooth will keep coming back. Why are they not treating the tooth?
