Lump under armpit

Hey. I found a lump this morning close to the surface. Went to Dr and was examined he thinks infection and has given me antibiotics and a cream for two weeks then I've to go back and get checked. He said it didn't overly worry him but if no improvement within two weeks possible referral to breast clinic. Anyone else had this? Freaking out!! x

I have a lump in my armpit and have had for a month. I went to the Dr last Wednesday who referred me to the breast clinic and my appointment is tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens!

I have lumpy armpits. I was referred to breast clinic urgently, turns out to be excess breast tissue thank goodness. Hope yours is something similar xx

I had this about 6 weeks ago. I was sure it was breast cancer or lymphoma (courtesy of Dr Google)

I got anti biotics and emollient shower cream. It took a second course of antibiotics but it did go.

I had a lump in my armpit (not sore and didn't grow for over a month) and was seen at breast clinic - was a cyst, no follow up.

The consultant told me that over half of underarm lumps are not anything to worry about

Hope your meds do the trick! My lump in my armpit was stage 2 breast cancer, I'm almost at the end of treatment. Always best to get any lumps checked. Only 1 in 8 will be cancer

whattheactualfuckery would you mind telling me whereabouts in your armpit your lump was and what it's appearance was like? I'm glad to hear you're at the end of your treatment.

And also, did you have any other symptoms apart from the lump?

Had a.mammogram and ultrasound. It's an enlarged lymph node. No treatment necessary!

@badgerread phew!! Did you have any other symptoms? How did you spot yours?

No nothing. I can't really remember how I found it. I think I was checking out whether my underarms needed waxing, had a bit of a feel and there it was!

I suffer with a lot of lumps in my armpit, I’ve been to the breast clinic a few times. They’re just swollen lymph nodes in my case, probably my body trying to fight an infection somewhere. It’s quite common and usually nothing to worry about.
