Colonoscopy tomorrow - feeling anxious

I have Colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Feeling pretty anxious and need a talking down/support please. Have just started taking the alarmingly effective MoviPrep! I have ulcerative colitis (reasonably controlled atm) so worried it's going to be painful Confused. I just keep thinking this time tomorrow it'll all be over! I'm having sedation so hoping it'll be ok. Thanks!

I had one a while back (with moviprep/sedation), the moviprep was the worst part but it was fine. It was more about the volume of what I had to drink rather than what happens at the other end Wink

The next day, I was happily chatting about holidays with the nurses whilst the Doctor was doing his thing. It was a little uncomfortable in parts but not horrendous at all.

It'll be over in no time and you'll be sat in recovery taking your pick of the little packs of biscuits to have with your cuppa. Flowers

Had one in January, Moviprep was the worst part also couldn't quite drink it all. Was sedated, found procedure a little uncomfortable at times. Given the option of watching on screen, fascinating, felt more relaxed being able to see what was going on.

Thanks both - that's really reassuring!
The MoviPrep tastes grim. Drinking through a straw definitely helps. About about to take glass no 4. Two litres of the stuff does seem excessive doesn't it!

Ensure you are not too far from the loo when you've drunk all of it!!

Haha yes indeed! Prep not so bad so far. The metallic aftertaste of the MoviPrep is a bit grim but it's all ok so far...

May sound strange but it is not a painful experience. A little uncomfortable sometimes when they have to push your stomach so the camera can get round a bend but that is all. I was amazed how, after sleepless nights beforehand, the whole procedure was over before I knew it!

Had one a few weeks ago. As PPs have said - uncomfy rather than painful. I managed on just has and air and actually.only needed it a few times.

Echo what everyone says, the prep is the worst bit. It will all be over pretty quickly and you will feel so relieved when it's done. I was so nervous about it I couldn't even read the moviprep instructions, but I shouldn't have worried so much. Really you will be fine.

I've had 2, both painful but the first I had active crohns and the 2nd a restriction so had a dilation procedure! Gas and air really helped me.
