On Sat DD12 landed awkwardly when jumping down an approx 1.5-2ft step - she fell on the ball of her foot just below big toe. She said it hurt tremendously immediately after landing, but went off a bit. She then went on to trip over a paving stone!

Fomr that point she has been gradually becoming in more and more pain and on Tues we went to the GP who sent us off to A and E for the next morning. Her foot is swollen and she cant even bear you brushing against it, it's that sore.

They xrayed and said there's lots of fluid around it but it's soft tissue only. But my gut still sats broken! She wants to go to the cinema with her friends tomorrow, but isn't suddenly walking better to make me says she's ok to go.

They said come back if the foot is still swollen but didn't say when (yes, DH took her to A and E yesterday as I was working so obvs barest details obtained!)

What to do?

Definitely keep it elevated and apply a cold compress to it, if your dd can bear it. Should keep the swelling down. Take another pic of it in 24 hrs to compare swelling. Hope she’s okay!
