UTI help

Have got that uncomfortable feeling of a
UTI starting to develop. Can anyone recommend anything I can do to prevent it from taking hold? My last one was a year ago and needed two doses of antibiotics to get rid of. If it wasn't summer holidays I would usually just go to my walk in clinic but the wait is normally about 2 hours. I'd have to take my ds, who has asd, and not great at waiting at the best of times, let alone in a stuffy gp surgery on hottest day of the year.

Start drinking litres and litres now. Also bicarb or those sachets. You might be lucky and be able to flush it out.

Also you can ask for antibiotics to have at home. I also have seen that Superdrug do an online ordering service.

Order some D-mannose today, it will arrive tomorrow, it's excellent stuff if expensive, and really works.

Teaspoon heaped of cream of tartar dissolved in warm water and squeeze of lemon/lime, drink, works for me.

I have never known a uti to clear without antibiotics....can you request a call from gp who might then do you a prescription?

Thanks everyone, have been drinking loads and had some of the sachets left over from another time. Seems to have settled down for now, grabbed a sample pot from the pharmacy over the road, they suggested I call the gp and drop sample into them to test. Will do so in the morning if it feels worse. In the meantime have ordered some d-mannose.

Hey there! I drank plenty of water, took a dose of berocca and the cystitis sachets, mine came back even after 3 rounds of antibiotics :/ so I gave up sugar and I haven't had one since!
