Hey! So my three month old has just had an ecg and been diagnosed with a mild form of mitral valve stenosis. He isn't out of breath or anything like that and the Dr said it wasn't abnormally narrow, just slightly, anyone else got this, know of anyone with this, or in the same boat as me? Just want some reassurance I guess, he's very well in himself but I just worry incase it's a condition whereby he could suddenly just deteriorate over night x

It won’t deteriorate overnight, how often are they going to monitor him?

Read up on it and ask all the questions you can
Ask what signs to look out for if it was getting worse
If you don’t have another consultant appointment coming up you could book a gp appointment to ask them to help you deal with this

Ask questions and lots of them. Don’t feel like you’re being annoying etc because you aren’t, main question is to ask what to look out for that isn’t good. Ask how to tell if he is getting unwell. Write down a list of signs if it helps. Try not to worry too much, if it was serious enough that he could go down hill quickly they would know and he would be kept in. Doesn’t make the thoughts any less scary though. Read up but don’t scare yourself.
