Do you pay for eye tests in England and Wales then? I didn't know that, they are free in Scotland. I'd better have one before I move

The differences in pricing between England and the rest of the country which the English, particularly those of us in London, hugely subsidise is very unfair indeed. We make the money and Wales and Scotland spend it. Worth having a holiday home there I usppose just to get the free care.

But, Xenia, that is true everywhere. The big cities carry the rural parts of the country. It isn't just abiout eye tests. I do see your point. It might get better when Scotland spins itself off.
