Why am I so tired?

What could be the cause of my exhaustion? Find it very difficult to get myself going in the morning...and come 2pm I'm struggling to do anything at all. I have two young children. I lost a parent a year ago but feel I'm coping with that ok. Am healthy and relatively fit (walk a lot) but my muscles are tired and achy. My muscles burn even after walking up the stairs.
The only other time ive felt like this I was diagnosed with depression after a breakdown but I don't have the other symptoms, don't feel down, life is great (yet very busy).

Any ideas? Obviously I will go to the Dr if it continues.

I felt like this when I had low levels of B12. My muscles were burning and achy all the time and the tiredness was indescribable. I could have an afternoon and still not be able to keep my eyes open by 8pm.
I had to have B12 injections every other day for a week and then one every 12 weeks. Its made a huge difference after an injection I feel so much better.
So I'd definitely get a blood test just to check.

As well as a blood test to check B12 also check Vitamin D, ferritin & folic acid. My tiredness was caused by low ferritin & folic acid and my sister's tiredness was due to low vitamin D.

If you post your results on here I'm sure posters will be able to tell you if you are at the optimal range. Sometimes the low end of normal in the UK would be considered low levels elsewhere. This is true especially for vitamin D. Worth reading the Vitamin D threads on here.

My GP told me that The NHS recommends everyone takes vitamin D supplements and that most people are deficient. He said he gives a vitamin D supplement to his child.
