Help! 6 month old keeps retching and vomiting milk in his sleep

He's perfectly fine and healthy all day but once in while (once yesterday and once today) I catch him retching while asleep and then he properly vomits (i.e. not posseting) breast milk. Just started weaning him last wk. When he's sick it's only milk which comes up, not solids. Two days ago he had cows' milk in his porridge, which made him mucousy so I've since replaced cows' milk with water, and thew vomiting started the followiing day. Is this vomiting normal during weaning or should I see a medic?

It sounds a bit like reflux to me. Is he having anything acidic to eat or drink? I would probably see how the next couple of days go, before seeing a dr, since he's ok in himself, but if you are worried then it's best to put your mind at rest.

Hmmm...he's had stewed apple, which was cooked with a little lemon juice - yesterday was the first time, though he ate it in the morning and threw up at night; but it's possible that it's irritated his stomach. He didn't have apple today but I was about to give him some more tonight - I'll give it a miss and see how things go.
