Bit of background- he has Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia which is stable ATM, but means his immune system is compromised,he does contract infections often. He also had successful chemo for bladder cancer last year.
But he's just been admitted to hospital for third time since April with the same set of symptoms, they say it's been pnuemonia each time and treated with antibiotics. He's then felt recovered but within days it's same symptoms again.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get pnuemonia more than once in such a short space of time? I want to ask the doctors why it's happening, but if it is possible then I don't need to be so worried.

I was diagnosed with pneumonia in May. I was told I would have an ray after six weeks to check whether it had cleared but that it could take months to fully resolve.
So is it possible that it's not the third case of pneumonia but the original one which hasn't cleared up?
I too felt better after the antibiotics but symptoms crept back and my GP gave me another, longer course of ABs.

My daughter had it 4 times in a row in one year. I do wonder if she never recovered fully though and was it the same infection?

The last time she got it, it was very bad but she never got it since. It’s so serious and In my opinion it took her a full year to recover from it fully.

I really hope your husband is ok.
