How do you know if a mole is dangerous?

Is there any way to check/any signs that tell you a mole is potentially cancerous? or can only a Dr advise? This one has appeared on my back and I never noticed before until my partner pointed it out

there are a lot of different types of moles - and some that I would call moles but apparently aren't (my GP called the sebhorric warts- i think thats how you spell it!) usually the nasty ones that you need to watch out for are a very dark almost black colour, flat on the skin and an irregular shape. But why take the chance - make an appointment with your GP and get it checked. I have a lot of moles and have had about 10 of them removed - mainly because they were in places where bra straps etc were rubbing them and aggravating them. I have just had one removed from my left arm. was an irregular shape and colour and would sometimes feel sore and look as if had bruising underneath. GP referred me to dermatologist, had an appointment within 2 weeks appointment and removal took less than an hour, just waiting on test results to come back now in case it was a nasty.

See a dermatologist.

ABCD asymmetry, is not round or oval. Border a dodgy mole may not have a defined border but will fade out. Colour if it's multi coloured get it looked at . Diametre , if it's over, I think,7 mm.

If you have any of these get it looked at. There's also the ugly duckling, one that's different from your other moles.

I've just had a mole removed because it itched like hell and I'm waiting for my biopsy results. Dermatologist didn't expect it to be cancerous though
