chicken pox on tongue....

Anyone have any experience of chicken pox on the tongue? Surely they can't pop and scab over on tongue???

My DS (14 months) is totally miserable.... I have been giving him Calprofen and Piriton. Not sure if there is anything I can do about the ones on his tongue???

Last time I saw GP he said give the above but nothing else he can do - i.e. Don't need to take him to see a Dr

Any advice would be welcome

My dd2 had this. I gave her bonjela. Also offer ice cream maybe to soothe his tongue?

They left no scars.

My brother got chicken pox spots in his throat, seem to remember he ate a lot of icecream. Don't think there is much you can do unfortunately - how about Anbesol? Isn't that a local anaesthetic?

Thanks. Will try ice cream - although he seems to be off all food at the moment....

DS had spots on his tongue and in his mouth. He was a little bit younger than your DS but just keep offering water very regularly as that seemed to help because he didn't like sucking/drinking/eating for any prolonged amount of time. We also used bonjela. And piriton was the most useful as it helped him sleep it off. Hope your little boy is better soon.
