Dull ache all day

This morning while I was ironing I got very breathless and developed a dull ache in the middle of my chest. It was very humid outside and not much air. After a couple of hours it went. It's now come back after I've eaten. But it's also goes through to my back. Would i be silly to call an ambulance as it might just be heartburn.

If you can type this, it's not an ambulance job. More appropriate to call 111 for advice. They will make sure an ambulance is called if it's a real emergency.

I would definitely call 111, breathlessness and a dull ache in your chest should get investigated. Sit down, call 111 and hope you feel better. Keep us posted. If it gets worse, call 999.

Just thought I'd update, I phoned 111 who sent an ambulance, it wasn't a heart problem thank goodness. It seems my esophagus had gone into spasm. The doctor said he understood why I thought heart attack as the pains would be similar and I did the right thing as no one knows the difference unless checked. My GP is now going to send me for the camera down my throat (not looking forward to that).
