I discovered some small red spots on ds2's back last Tuesday. I did the glass test and as he was otherwise fine in himself I left it. On Wednesday he was burning up but the spots were unchanged. They hadn't spread or crusted over and didn't seem itchy. On Thursday morning he was still very hot even after paracetomol, listless and not eating so I took him to the GP who said he had a cold. On Friday ds2 had a little more energy, his temperature was down and the spots were still unchanged. Yesterday they had spread to his arms and stomach. This morning they are on his legs too. His temperature is a little higher than usual but not too bad. He's crying a fair bit and was awake and crying for most of the night.Does anyone know what these spots might be and why new ones are still appearing almost a week later?
We haven't changed washing powder, soap, bubble bath etc. Ds2 finds clothes uncomfortable so has been wearing just a nappy while in the house. We have no pets at all and haven't had any visitors who own pets. They don't look like insect bites. His diet is fairly limited so he hasn't eaten anything new. His vaccinations are all up-to-date (the GP asked if he'd had his MMR).He hasn't had chickenpox yet but I would've thought that cp spots would have started to blister or crust over by now?
Ds2 is 18 months old. Ds1 (4yrs) has had a temperature since last night but this may be related to having been given his MMR on Thursday.
