Anxiety

I have recently been diagnosed with anxiety. I don't have panic attacks but suffer from tremors in which I am not shaking physically but feel it inside and this can stop me from sleeping at night. I also feel the ground moving up and down, chest pains and tightening, heart palpitations, muscle spasms, throat tightening and mouth numbness, days when you feel like you have the flu, fatigue. It is really annoying as I am trying to relax but my body isn't. The doctor has offered me some medication but this can make me worse before I get better. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Is there any medication to ease the physical symptoms? I am trying to deal with the emotional side by exercise, cognitive behavioural therapy. I am going on holiday in a couple of weeks and want to get better. Any advice would be appreciated.

First 10 days not easy but then amazing

Hey! Fellow anxiety person here.
Can recommend two things - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Propanolol.

CBT works very well for me. Strategies to deal with underlying causes of anxiety are important.
Propanolol is a simple beta blocker. Slows your heart a little and eases those physical symptoms you describe. It helps me tremendously and only need to take ad hoc.

Also an anxiety sufferer.

As a PP said, propranolol is amazing and stops the Adrenalin rushes rather than acting on the brain, so you feel in control.

I also take a low dose of citalopram - a few days of feeling worse not better but then the difference is huge, for me anyway.

My husband swears by mindlefulness (app) to help him with health related anxiety.

Good luck
