Ds 6yrs very very sore nose....advice please

Hi all, my poor ds has had a really sore nose now for over a month!! It keeps bleeding on the sore bits aswell so its hard to keep it clean.. Decided to take him to docs on tues but wondered if anyone had any ideas as to why its still so snotty after all this time.
He is fit healthy and well and is eating and drinking well.

Any advice much appreciated.

Is this cos it's sore after a cold?

Do you use sudacreme on it? I generally creep in when ds is asleep and touch a little on his nose, try to do that about half an hour after he's settled, then again when I go to bed (cos he can'tbear the feeling of it when he's awake, otherwise I'd try to put it on in the daytime too).

Do ordinary scratches and stuff heal OK? if so, then maybe it's just that he picks and rubs at his sore nose all day, keeping it sore.

Thankyou clumsymum, Yes he did have a cold but i dont understand why he still has loads of snot! I think this is why its not healing properley but why the snot for so long? ( its thick and green aswell) (sorry i know its gross)
