Husband does a lot of running, went out on Sunday in the heat and when he went for a wee afterwards it was bright red!! He went to the docs on Monday and he was given an urgent referral to a urologist. Really worried it could be something serious, he runs all the time and has never had this before. He did say that he didn't drink anything before his run (he left first thing in the morning) so might have been dehydrated. He is 34 years old....has anyone else had any similar experiences??? Really freaking out!

...forgot to add it was painless when it happened and it seemed to return to normal within an hour

Running induced haematuria is not uncommon but is a diagnosis of exclusion, hence the referral to the urologist. Daft to run whilst dehydrated.
