My back has given out on me

So it's my day off, I have been having some funny sensations in my back and legs the past couple of days at work and while driving but I do have a bulging disc on the left and stenosis around the nerves on the right at L4/L5 so it's not that unusual. Got up at 6.30, made breakfast, went and got bloods done, while I was at the surgery I noticed that when standing I had prickling sensations in my feet. Got home, made a coffee and sat down but started feeling uncomfortable so went to stand and got that searing pain accross my lower back, sensation of my spine being crushed. So I am sat up in my bed, have just gone downstairs for supplies and meds and it was painful doing everything but going up and down stairs is a nightmare.

I am able to walk but I think that is because I am already on Gabapentin and co codamol 30/500 for my lower back and nerve pain in right arm. I am in the house alone, the tv is still on downstairs because the remote is on the floor, the kitchen in a tip and this is so uncomfortable. I ha to rest because I have to go to work on Monday.....no matter what my boss will be a nightmare if I don't go. I have recently returned to work following a couple of surgeries on my arm and my Bradford is so high already.

Just needed to vent

I would say GP or OOH. My small herniation doubled and I ended up having surgery, it happened v v quickly

I have just rested, it hasn't got better but it hasn't got worse either. I am already under the pain Team and have had an MRI ....... they won't do much here unless I end up in a&e as an emergency. I will try and push through and hope it gets better, if it isn't any better by the end of the week then I will go back to the docs. I still have to go to work, to be fair I have a special chair at work which is incredibly comfortable, so I will be ok whilst I am there, it's just driving to and fro that's going to be hard work.

I'd be very cautious if I was you as your body is clearly trying to send you signals of some kind. If you have any bladder or bowel issues go straight to A&E as this is a very serious back related issue. Good luck!

It's not an worse but it's not better, I am fairly mobile so that's good, first sign of any bowel bladder issues and I will got tonA and E
