Stool sample results?! *TMI*

So i started with diarrhea Saturday morning at 6am, really bad. This by the afternoon turned in to mucus and red blood. Not loads of blood but still. Diarrhea has continued till about Wednesday but hadn't noticed anymore blood just mucus. I'd already visited the local walk in centre after ringing 111. Midwife insisted tuesday a stool sample should be sent to gps. So i did this first thing wednesday morning. Had really soft stools and bad stomach cramps all week on and off. Going atleast 6 times a day since the diarrhea stopped. Stomach cramps are hurrondous but haven't had much of them today. Rang yesterday for results as normally doesn't take long. Was told to ring back today after 11. So i ring back only to be told that they are no longer (within 24 hours of changing policy apprently) allowed to give results out over the phone. So i ring the midwife who checks and says no results available yet and to ring them back over the weekend. I since been to the toliet and once again theres blood and mucus and very soft, smelly stool. Not much blood but still. How long do you think results will take? I'm starting to worry now because of the blood and the fact that this is now day 7 of being unwell. I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant.

My husband has recently had similar (obvs not pregnancy related though) and he was told to go to hospital if his symptoms didn't improve.
His stool and blood results were there for the dr to see at his 2nd appointment, less than a week later.

@ILoveMyDressingGown i don't think its pregnancy releated at all and neither did the walk in centre nurse or the 3 midwives i have spoken too. Do you mind me asking what the results where? We at first thought gastro bug. Didn't think we had come in to contact with anyone with it but turns out we had. But there is only me in the house ill so don't think its that. Midwives have said OH and DD would be ill as well. Do you think if i ask to speak to on duty doctor over the phone they would be able to ring the lab for results?

For my husband, his dr is thinking of Crohns or colitis. There is a family link though with his mum & uncle having the same diagnosis. It showed something to do with proteins in his gut and problems with his liver function.

I'm not sure about ringing the dr; if they're not allowed to tell you over the phone I doubt it's help. Is there any way you can make an appointment for Monday morning to chase it up?

If it continues bleeding though and certainly if it gets worse I'd at least be ringing 111 if not actually going to hospital.

Its the receptionists no longer allowed to tell you. I'm lucky to get an appointment when i need one so highly doubt i would get one. So frustrating. I'm only 25 and it started out off no where straight after the very bad diarrhea x

Demanded to speak too on duty doctor was put straight through after telling them how far gone i am. He wouldn't ring the lab for results though and said they are not back still so he wants me to go in on monday morning. Told me not to worry about eating and just keep up fluids

It sounds really frustrating for you. I wish I could give you advice but I only know what my husband's been told.
I hope you do get some answers soon though and am bumping in case someone more knowledgeable sees it Flowers

@ILoveMyDressingGown thank you. Gp is not concerned about blood in it. Thinks its gastro or food poisening. I have an appointment on monday. Will ring midwives again tomorrow see if results are back then. Driving me mad not knowing and constanlty worrying it could be something more just because I've had it so long. Todays been a much better day though compared to the last 6
