Hi all.
Had a DVT about 8 years ago after my first dd was born. Came as a big shock. No history or other factors that we know of.
The same calf has given me on-off pain over the years and flares up every now and again. It usually settles down after a few days. However this pain now is on going.
I have been back to the Dr 2-3 times since my DVT worried about another but they have always sent me away without any further tests so I don't really know what is happening in that calf.
I developed very bad cramps around 6 months ago. They happen if I've been in bed resting and go to put my leg on the floor. they are excruciating but ease up after a while.
I have constant pain when I kneel on my legs. I can really feel that bit inside my calf that had the clot. This is always present and I worry in case someone kicks it.
This episode of on/off pain has lasted over a week. There is not swelling or redness but I have some very visible long green veins down that leg.
I know clots cause damage (and I left my previous clot a long time in agony as I thought it was a pulled muscle or something). However, I never expected it to last this long.
I am just wondering if I possible have PAD or something with the cramps and tingling in that leg or if it really is PTS.
The Doctor in my experience won't do anything and tells me it's probably a pulled muscle (which I disagree with as I've done nothing to pull it and it's in the exact same spot and the same leg as the DVT. (other leg is fine). So I refuse to go back to the Dr to be told that again.
Is there anything else I can do to just see what is happening with the leg?
Would a private Dr take me any more seriously?
I'm just fed up of the pain now. I have 3 young kids and work in an environment ( in a SEN school) where we do get kicked and hit sometimes.
