A couple of years ago I had a horrid flu type virus that laid me up for 2-3 weeks. Left me feeling really wheezy - something I’ve never experienced before. Anyway I ended up on short course of prednisone & a ventolin inhaler which helped hugely but didn’t completely resolve it. After a couple of months of liaising with GP I ended up in Fostair which seems to keep me symptom free - until I get the slightest cold. It’s almost like my immune system now goes into overdrive when I catch even a minor sniffle. My sinuses burn like crazy & I start to wheeze & then the rattly chest starts & I end up either on high doses of inhalers or steroid tablets. It feels like my body goes into overdrive since that initial viral infection. The drs have not formally said I’ve got asthma but 2 years down the line I see no sign of being able to give up inhalers. Anyone else had similar experiences or insight please??
