Just that really. I felt it this morning. Is it a GP job?

Yes : I had similar and it was fatty cyst

littlecabbage · 04/07/2018 20:18

It's probably a lymph node, which can be enlarged for all sorts of reasons. I would get it checked but don't panic unduly. It's likely not serious.

HollowTalk · 04/07/2018 20:19

Have you scratched yourself there lately? I had this when I'd cut myself shaving.

callmehannahbaker · 04/07/2018 20:24

Not scratched or anything but not overly worried. I'm guessing a lymph node so don't really want to waste the GP's time

You should get it checked to be safe

Snapespeare · 04/07/2018 20:29

It’s really not a waste of time and your GP will not think so. I agree it’s probably a lymph, but we have a health service that is free at the point of use do that everyone can can access to health care if they need it. If it is ‘anything else’ then your best result is with early detection and treatment.

Please book an appointment. My mum died of breast cancer when I was 20 years old. She was of s generation that didn’t want to cause a fuss.

callmehannahbaker · 04/07/2018 20:34

I will call for an appt in the morning-luckily it's my day off work so as long as there is one during school I should be reassured by tomorrow afternoon. Thank you all

Snapespeare · 04/07/2018 20:35

Hope it all goes swimmingly for you OP. Please don’t worry! As you say, probably nothing, but best to be sure. 🙂

noodles44 · 04/07/2018 21:21

Definitely book one, even if no appts avail 2mo.
They are a cyst or fatty lump & not anything sinister 9 times out of 10, so try not to worry.
I had one of these and I am unfortunately the 1 out of 10 person. I went immediately though and am starting treatment soon. You are not wasting the GPs time at all. It is most likely not anything serious, but don't leave it to chance.

callmehannahbaker · 05/07/2018 08:07

I have an appt just before lunch today. Little bit nervous about having to get chest out but know I'm being silly

OP posts:
Icklepup · 05/07/2018 17:30

Hope everything was ok and will be ok

callmehannahbaker · 06/07/2018 03:48

It is gristle! Bit disgusted in myself for becoming part sausage but so relieved

OP posts:
Snapespeare · 07/07/2018 09:00

Well done Sausage! Smile

princesstiasmum · 09/07/2018 16:32

I have had one of these for as long as i can remember, but in those days no one even mentioned lumps, so i guess i am lucky that its just a fatty little lump
Glad yours is ok op
