Holiday in 2 weeks and Ed has Chickenpox? Help!!

We are due to go on holiday on 8th of June, and we have just found out that Ed has chickenpox. He had been very tetchy for the last couple of weeks but we put it down to teething. However on Thursday we discovered spots appearing on his inner thigh and after visit to doctor on Friday, they he confirmed it was Chickenpoxs. Great!

Anyone have any ideas whether we will be able to fly in 2 weeks time. The spots are really appearing now, however they are very small and only appear to be on his legs and groin area.

Anyone got any hot tips on how we can get decent night sleep as he has been awake for the last three nights. We are currently using camomile lotion

he'll be fine to fly in two weeks time!

Chicken pox doesn't last very long, only about 5 days usually.

he will be ok - DS was over the worst in a few days
you can try bicarb in his bath or porridge oats (put in a sock first)
i found an aqueous cream mixed with calamine which was better than using the liquid
Also, try piriton to help with the itching you can get a chidlren's syrup

Current advice from the department of education is that chicken pox is contagious for one day before the spots appear and five days after. You will absolutely be fine to fly.

That being said, I would get a doctor's note to explain the spots, as he might still have some dry spots by the time you fly.

It's lucky he's got it now, and not in two weeks time!
