Depends! Are you eating high carb and/or high sugar in the morning, that can cause a feeling of lethargy and sleepiness a couple of hours later?

Could you be anaemic? Are you very overweight or just a little? Are you getting good quality sleep or do you have things on your mind making you restless?

Are there any hormones at play - pregnancy, menopause etc?

Actually didnt think of being aneamic ..i used to take iron tabs a long time ago maybe i should buy some vitamins would that help ??

If there's nothing obvious, it's worth getting some bloods done to check for vitamin deficiencies or anaemia. I had a spell of falling asleep driving to work, I took vitamin B a few times and it helped. But def get it medically checked, don't rely on internet randoms.

halfwitpicker · 03/07/2018 17:36

How overweight are you?

Battleax · 03/07/2018 17:37

Get proper bloods done. Especially iron, thyroid and B12.

RadioDorothy · 03/07/2018 17:37

Hmm pull down your eyelid and take a look at the inner part - is it nice and ruby red, or more pale pink?

I wouldn't start taking iron supplements without seeing your GP first.

It could be that it’s so hot and everyone is feeling exhausted.

Battleax · 03/07/2018 18:03

Can you fully account for the extra weight or do you think your metabolism is sluggish? It’s worth asking for the tests.

InDubiousBattle · 03/07/2018 18:08

I lost 3.5 stone and had much more energy for it. I really can't carry my 4.5 year old about for very long- I'd struggle to carry him to the end of the road and back- and the way I see it I was carrying the equivalent of him around before. 3.5 stone up every flight of stairs, on to every train, along every street etc....it's got to add up to more tiredness surely? Only speaking from my experience op, you have less to lose than I did!

afromom · 03/07/2018 18:10

Are you taking any hay fever tablets? I have taken them for years with no problem, but when I've tried over the last couple of years I can't seem to get past 4pm! I didn't link the two together, until my friend said, you do know they make you drowsy!

Elementtree · 03/07/2018 18:12

I think losing weight and exercising is exhausting. Keeping a calorie deficit day after day and exercising, especially if it's not something you usually do, is going to hurt.

I mean, it might be something else I suppose but if all this started with your health kick, I think you might just have to ride it out for a while.

milkjetmum · 03/07/2018 18:12

I was struggling with exhaustion - could get through the day but would flake out once kids in bed. Was getting hard to get out of bed in the morning (which was never a problem for me). Had put this down to being ground down by saga of being on neverending waiting list to have my gallbladder out. But turned out from blood tests that I was massively vit D deficient. Consultant started me on a megadose supplement (prescription only) and I felt the difference very quickly. 6 weeks on feel back to my old self and gallbladder gone too

daytonabeach · 03/07/2018 18:15

Check out the symptoms for underactive thyroid. It may be worth having a test.
