How to stop a wart from bleeding

Hi,

My 5yo has a wart on the side of her finger which she knocked on Sunday. It started bleeding but then sorted itself out. Then it was bleeding again on Monday morning so I put a plaster on it. Plasters don't stay on well because it's over the knuckle on her finger. Anyway, she bled through that one and had to have a new plaster at school. Then that came off and there was more bleeding after school so another plaster was needed. She bled through that one, too. After apply pressure for a while I got a plaster to stay on by adding micropore (sp?) But I can see that she's bled onto that, too.

Not sure how best to stop it bleeding? It doesn't continuously bleed, but it bleeds for a fair while and then starts up again a few hours later. Can it get infected if it keeps coming open? We're going on holiday at the weekend so I want to try and get it dry and scabbed over before she's slathered in suncream and sand.

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

I’d go and ask the local chemist.

Alternatively, I’d bandage the whole area for a few day to stop the wart getting knocked. Hopefully it will then scab over.

I was going to recommend a more substantial dressing too.
